The cylindric shape of the peppermill is optically broken by the wood structure. This effect is reinforced by cutting it into five pieces and reassembling them turned against each other by 180°. The resulting zigzag pattern creates an attractive friction.

Die zylindrische Form der Pfeffermühle wird durch die Oberflächentextur des Holzes gebrochen. Dieser Effekt wird dadurch verstärkt, dass sie aus fünf Stücken unterschiedlicher Länge besteht. Gegenläufig zusammengefügt, erzeugen die Holzstücke ein spannendes Zickzack Muster.
